Give Our Soldiers The Respect They Deserve

In the papers today is a story about a young soldier, aged 20, who is a triple amputee. He isn't in the papers for his injuries (not directly), but for the fact that his local council have stuck him and his young family into a tiny 6th floor flat, that is too small even for him to use his wheelchair indoors. All this is happening while asylum seekers, alot of whom can not or will not speak English, are being handed £1m homes to just do with as they please. This is absolutely disgusting and with all the problem in government, local and national, why on earth would Thurrock Council not do more to help him. Private Alex Stringer is a British citizen, he fought for this country and this country repays him by sticking him in unsuitable accomodation. Yes, a spokeman has said ‘We are doing everything we can to support Mr Stringer’s return to independence.’ But that is not good enough. Why should we have to sit an suffer in silence, while asylum seekers come here, get handed everything on a platter and laugh in our faces about it, while whining it isn't enough.
I can only hope that Private Stringer gets the help and home he needs and deserves.
